I am not flexible at all. Can I still do yoga?

Absolutely! Yoga isn’t just for the bendy people. In my classes, you are encouraged to move your body in a way that is appropriate for where you are right now.

Saying that you are not flexible enough to do yoga is a bit like saying you don’t have enough prior knowledge to learn anything new. If you sign up for a beginner’s French class, nobody expects you to speak fluently on arrival.

The only way to find out if yoga is for you is… to come along!

In my classes, we use props, such as bricks, blocks, and straps to help find the expression of each pose that works for us. There are lots of different options offered. You can choose what works for you.

Don’t let feeling inflexible or stiff put you off. You are welcome, just as you are x

P.S. There are plenty of poses I can’t do!

I find it difficult to get up and down from the floor. Can I still do yoga?

Yes! I have a couple of classes that involve no getting up and down from the floor. You could try my gentle chair yoga class. This is a great class for anyone who wants a predominantly seated practice, with the option of standing for some poses if possible or desired. For example, when we work on balancing.

There are also my monthly online yoga nidra sessions. Yoga nidra is a completely still practice, in which you lie down and simply listen to my voice. The sessions are delivered via Zoom, so you can do those in the comfort of your own home.

What equipment do I need?

For the first few classes, you’re welcome to borrow a yoga mat if you don’t have one. Just let me know this when you book.  Most people prefer to purchase their own mat after a few sessions. There are lots of high street/ online options for buying yoga mats and other equipment. I can point you in the right direction if you’re unsure.

I can also provide straps, blocks, bricks, etc.  Again, in time you’ll probably want to buy your own.

In addition, bring a drink and a warm top or blanket for the relaxation, especially in the colder months.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! Leggings and a top are ideal. Try to avoid anything too baggy, too revealing, or too restrictive. Make sure you can move easily.

How much do the classes cost?

You have two options when you attend any of the classes. You can sign up for the whole term (usually about 6 weeks) or book a single class and pay as you go.

The termly option works out cheaper than PAYG if you know that you can make all or most of the sessions in a term.

60-minute classes= £7 paid as part of the term OR £9 pay as you go

90-minute classes= £9 paid as part of the term OR £12 pay as you go

If you pay for the term but find that you cannot make a class, I offer a pre-recorded class on request. You can access this at home and will be sent a link to a YouTube video. Refunds/class rollovers are not available.

If you are unable to make a booked single class, you can reschedule the class for a later date via the booking system. This can be done up to 1 hour before the event.

Single-class cancellations can be made up to 12 hours before the event.

Where are the classes?

All the venues I use are comfortable and easily accessible, with parking right outside. The venues are warm enough in the winter too, something that I don’t compromise on!

Kinver Senior Citizens Club is on Legion Drive, Kinver. It’s the small building on the drive leading to the Edward Marsh Centre. There is a small car park next to the building, or the larger car park at the EMC. There are no steps leading into the building.

Stourton Village Hall is a spacious venue, set back from the main road and quite private. Classes are held in the main hall. There is a large car park outside the venue.
