Which class is right for me?

With so many different types of yoga, it's important to find the right one for you. I hope these descriptions help you choose.

Foundations/ Begin

Foundations/ Begin are 60-minute classes suitable for those new to yoga. They would also suit those with some previous knowledge of yoga who haven’t been on the mat in a while. In this class, we will be going right back to basics, focussing on key yoga poses with plenty of options given so that everyone can find the right expression of the pose to suit them. The ability to get up and down from the floor is required in these mat-based classes.

Classes include Pranayama (breath work) to calm and focus the mind and Asanas (poses) chosen to take the body through a range of movements, stretching and strengthening the muscles. Classes conclude with a full body relaxation (Savasana) to integrate all the benefits of the practice.

Deepen

This is a class for those with some experience of yoga who wish to deepen their practice and explore further.

In this class, we will be building on your previous knowledge, incorporating a wide variety of Pranayama (breath work) exercises, postures, offering variations, and touching on meditation and philosophy.

Refresh

This class is a fantastic way to start your day. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience of yoga, this class will suit you.

At 90 minutes long, the class incorporates breath work and relaxation, as well as physical Asanas (postures). Clear instructions and different options for poses ensure that beginner students can practice safely and with confidence, whilst variations and more challenging options for each posture mean that those with some experience can continue to deepen their physical practice.

Gentle Chair Yoga

The gentle chair yoga class is suitable for anyone that wants a predominantly seated practice, with the option of standing for some postures if you feel like it.

There is no getting up and down from the floor repeatedly, instead we incorporate gentle movements and poses to stay mobile and well. The breath is used to explore sensation and calm the body, mind and nervous system.

New faces are always welcome in the group, so if this sounds like something you’d be interested in then please get in touch. e can discuss any physical limitations or injuries you might have that may have put you off attending a yoga class previously.

Yoga really is for everyone, it’s all about finding the right class.
