Begin your yoga journey with weekly classes in Kinver, Stourton and online

Have you ever wanted to try yoga but thought you weren’t flexible enough?

Have you had a break from yoga and want to return?

Did you think you couldn’t practice yoga because you have injuries or conditions that made it seem impossible?

Are you in need of some time for yourself, away from the demands of your everyday life?

You are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome here, whoever you are. Whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice, there’s a class to suit you on the timetable.

Sarah has classes for complete beginners, those with some experience, chair yoga classes, and online classes.

Unite Yoga was established by Sarah, to bring people back to themselves… mind, body, and breath.

In today’s busy world, it’s so important to carve out little pockets of peace for yourself, wherever you can.

MIND… often when people come to yoga, they have a head full of busy thoughts. Maybe they are stressed out. Yoga may have been suggested as a way of finding some calm.

BODY… The physical practice of yoga is great for getting you out of your head and into your body, so if you struggle to switch off, if you are always thinking, planning, or carrying any kind of mental load, you may find yoga asanas (poses) help you to calm that mental chatter. Of course, the physical practice is also great for developing balance, stretching and strengthening the muscles, and improving posture, amongst other things.

BREATH… Pranayama, the practice of working with the breath and our subtle energy, is a key component of any yoga practice. If you can breathe, you can do yoga! By working with the breath we can learn techniques for different purposes- to calm the nervous system, strengthen the lungs, revitalise the body, develop focus and concentration, and calm the mind.

And so back to the MIND… developing the skills of noticing, awareness, focus, and interoception (noticing what’s going on inside the body and mind) is an important part of the practice of yoga.  They are great preparatory stages of meditation. Short meditations may be incorporated into longer classes and workshops.

I have been coming to Sarah’s yoga class for years. She is such a wonderful teacher who makes you feel welcome, explains poses clearly and gives lots of alternatives which I find helpful. I never feel out of place if I’m doing something slightly different to someone else, and that’s down to Sarah. I always come away feeling positive in mind and strengthened and relaxed in body! Highly recommend!

“I started Sarah’s yoga class just over a year ago. I come out revitalised and ready to face the week ahead. Sarah is great demonstrating the different moves, it’s a pleasure to attend”
