UNITE YOGA
Are you a human ‘being’? Or a human ‘doing’? If you frequently feel like life is a hectic whirl and your brain never switches off, then yoga is definitely for you!
This ancient Indian practice will strengthen your body, improve balance, encourage improved posture and teach you to work with the body you have. You will learn how to use the breath correctly, focus on the present moment and calm the mind. What you learn on your yoga mat, under the guidance of a qualified and committed teacher, will serve you on and off the mat in so many ways… Find out about my classes below |
ABOUT ME
![]() Sarah Wilson
I’m passionate about teaching, yoga, health and well-being.
For nearly 14 years I was a secondary school teacher, teaching modern foreign languages to teenagers. This was a role I really enjoyed; I loved seeing my students learn how to communicate, develop confidence and become the best they could be. At the same time, I had been training in the martial art of Taekwon-Do and had achieved my 3rd Dan black belt. In 2010 my husband and I set up Unite Taekwon-Do, our own Taekwon-Do school. I currently teach our youngest students and we focus on developing coordination, confidence and basic techniques to help keep them fit, healthy and safe.
After a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2013, I started to re-evaluate my lifestyle. Yoga and meditation were a great help to me at this time in my life. Luckily, I have stayed fit and healthy and hope to continue to remain so. In 2015 I gave birth to my son and decided to change things up completely. I resigned from my job and re-trained to be a Sun Power Yoga teacher. I’m so excited to be able to show others all the benefits of yoga. So, I hope you’ll join me in one of my classes soon to find out what yoga can do for you!

CLASSES
NEW Beginner Yoga Classes

The Beginner Yoga Class is suitable for those new to yoga and those new to the Sun Power style. It would also suit those with some previous knowledge of yoga who haven’t been on the mat in a while. Yoga really is for every body. If you’re not flexible or fit, that’s OK. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of flexibility, fitness, shape, age or gender.
In this class, we will be going right back to basics, focussing on key yoga poses with plenty of modifications where needed.
Classes begin with a short relaxation to quieten the mind and prepare the body. Pranayama (breathing exercises) cleanse and balance, before moving on to carefully selected Asanas (postures) that will gradually warm up the body, strengthening and lengthening the muscles, improving balance, stamina and posture. Classes conclude with a longer, full body relaxation and meditation.

All equipment is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own mats, blocks, straps etc. if you have them. I also offer 1:1 sessions that can be tailored to the individual. Please get in contact to discuss the availability of these sessions. A class with Sarah is a chance to step away from the stresses and strains of daily life, focus on the mind/body connection, bring your attention to the present and experience the joy of movement and breath work.
NEW Sun Power Yoga and Soundbath
We will move through 1.5 hours of uplifting Sun Power Yoga followed by 1.5 hours of deep relaxation surrounded by the sacred sounds of gong, crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, drum and voice.
Sun Power Yoga In our 90 minutes together we will explore breath work and mudras that direct and channel our vital life force, Prana, around the subtle body. We will unite the breath with movement, letting the wave-like sound of Ujjayi breath wash over us as we move through our physical practice. Reaching up to the sky we will honour the sun through our dynamic salutations, before connecting to the earth, becoming grounded, steady and strong through a variety of postures. Moving through our practice we will release stress and tension, stretch and strengthen the body, calm the mind and reconnect with ourselves. |
Soundbath You will then spend a further 90 minutes bathed in sacred sounds that allow your body to soak in peace and harmony. Mother Earth will support you as you relax on your mat, blankets and warm clothing will enable you to deeply relax your whole mind, body and spirit. The sacred sounds of gong, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, drum and voice help to slow down the brain waves and help you to drift off into a sea of calm. |
Due to the vibrations soundbaths are not suitable for women in the first trimester, people with brain or heart devices or those with sound sensitive epilepsy.
This session is open to all levels of yoga practitioner ages 16+.
If you have your own yoga mat please bring this, or get in touch if you need to borrow a mat.
Please bring a blanket, warm clothing, pillows, eye pillows… anything to make your experience more comfortable.
